HOW TO KNOW GOD

Ever think about what pops into peoples minds when they hear the word Christian?

You might hear responses like legalistic, judgmental, intolerant or even brainwashed.

I am convinced very few think of the word LOVE. Yet the primary characteristic of who Jesus was is love.

In John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Many world religions have foundations that focus on human well-being, love and peace. These good works which are done even benefit our society as a whole, but that is the purpose of a religion.

Jesus is referring to a relationship not a religion.

In order to have a relationship with God, Jesus must introduce you to Him. Jesus invites all people of all faiths into a relationship with God through Him. Jesus does not condemn, He brings forth direction, truth and life for everyone who believes.

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

If this is making sense there is now a journey ahead of you. One which involves the ultimate relationship: God and you.

So you ask: “How do I get involved in this relationship?” Well, I am glad you asked:

1. We must realize that there is a separation that exists between God and mankind, which is due to sin.

Romans 3:23: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

2.  We must do a 180-degree turn and ask forgiveness for our sin and allow God to now have input into your life.

Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

3. We must receive God’s love, which he demonstrated by and through His son Jesus.

Romans 5:8: But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

4. We must confess our willingness to accept God into our lives.

Romans 10:9-13: that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

It is our desire and concern to help you grow in a more intimate and personal

relationship with Jesus. If this is your desire, take a moment and ask God to:

a - Forgive you of all your sins
b - Thank him for giving His son in the place of your sin
c - Invite Him to become a part of your life now and forever.

If you have completed the following we would like to know. We want to send you some information that will help you relate to God through reading the bible, talking with him in prayer and attending a church where you can meet others who know Jesus as their personal savior.
